There are just so many things to love about it; from the off the charts diversity (from race and culture, to gender, age, style, size, etc.), to the simple, but significant visual impact, it’s a beautiful thing, and it makes our hearts happy.
*Does the happy dance.*
*Waves hands in the air like I just do not care.*
Oops, I digress…
As a business owner, when campaigns hit me the way this one did, I immediately become a student and wanna educate myself on what it is about the campaign that’s got me all up in my feels.
Why do I feel so strongly about this particular campaign verses others? What can I learn from that, that I can use in my own business?
With this campaign there was one thing that immediately stood out to me - in addition to being DOPE and Diverse that is. ;)
When two or more great brands collab magic can happen. In this particular case we have Alexander Wang, DoSomething, Steven Klein (the photographer) and 38 celebrities all collaborating for the same cause.
Do you know what that means?
That’s 41 brands - because celebs are brands too – pushing the exact same message and product at one time, resulting in the social explosion that is #Wang10 !
And that doesn’t even take into account the tweets, re-tweet’s, posts, re-grams, blog posts (like this one), etc. etc. etc. that are all happening as I type this piece. That’s HUGE!
Consider how you might be able to use the power of collaboration in your field or business.
It might be something as simple as a product giveaway or a twitter chat. Or maybe something more elaborate like the Alexander Wang x DoSomething collab. Either way, start brainstorming!
In an ideal world what kind of collaboration would you like to be a part of? Who would you like to collaborate with?
Now, how can you turn any of those dream collabs into a reality – even if only on a small scale?
Thanks to social media it’s easier than ever before to reach out to individuals and businesses you’d like to work with, so don’t be shy – chase your dream collabo!
Something to think about, right? And definitely something we should talk more about in a future post!
Side Note: Something else to consider - the imagery we use to sell products.
It’s very simple really.
Is how you SELL, this…
Imagery fucking matters!
